How to create a platform for emerging and established artists far away from everyday life and conventions? With the art and culture festival sommer.frische.kunst. Bad Gastein has managed to establish a popular venue of the art scene at an altitude of 1000 meters above sea level in the midst of a wild and romantic Alpine scenery. In summer 2018, the health resort Bad Gastein will draw artists and creative minds to the international festival in the Austrian Gasteinertal for the ninth time.
From 6. July – 31. August, Bad Gastein presents scholarship holders of the Artist in Residence program “kunstresidenz”, numerous solo exhibitions in public space and offers interesting workshops in the academy, where art lovers can redesign or develop the fine arts.
The highlight of the festival is the Art Weekend from 27.-29. July where the scholarship holders of the Artist in Residence program celebrate the opening of their group exhibition in the historic hydroelectric power station of Bad Gastein. The international scholarship program offers emerging, young artists free rein for their creative work through free living and the use of studio space. Following the opening, the traditional collectors’ dinner offers artists, collectors, and art aficionados the opportunity to exchange ideas. One can experience a creative summer in a magical place.
Establishing the health resort as an important place for contemporary art and culture is the goal of the communication and presswork which has been in the hands of dan pearlman since 2009. For dan pearlman, the summer festival is a matter close to the heart beginning with the development of visual communication, the conception and the realization of the brochure for the festival. Throughout the summer, the festival will also be accompanied by public relations. For us, Bad Gastein is an inspirational muse .
