Our Master Plan for the Berlin Zoo is officialNovember 17, 2015
Yesterday, in a joint press conference with Zoological Garden Berlin, we introduced to the public our strategic development plan for Zoo Berlin.
The plans were presented to journalists following the ground-breaking ceremony for Lion’s Gate, the start of the project involving the redesign of the main entrance to the S- and U-Bahn station. The strategic development plan for the Zoo Berlin was developed in parallel with the planning of strategic development plan for the Tierpark Berlin. “Our task was to identify the potentials of both zoological facilities and develop future-sustainable concepts”, said Project Manager Melanie Huland.
Under the motto “In the Midst of It All – Amazing Animal Diversity” the Zoological Garden is strengthened as an inner-urban zoo. With its diversity of animals, listed historical architecture and its park-like landscape structure, the Zoo Berlin promises a concentrated and entertaining zoo experience.
The motto “Off into the Wild. Experience Adventure!” announces Tierpark Berlin’s vision for the future. The surface area potential of Europe’s largest landscape animal park is to be utilized. Accordingly, the plans, released in June 2015, envision geographical zoning, spacious animal enclosures and herd keeping.
