#FarbenBekennen

How do people that leave their homes due to war, terror and displacement, start all over again in a new country? How do they feel like home again and become part of the society? Within the communication campaign #FARBENBEKENNEN, Berlin introduces eight refugees with their social and integrative commitment in their new hometown Berlin. The protagonists of the campaign, three women and five men, did not only become a part of German society but also want to show their colours (#FARBEBEKENNEN) for their new home town. They describe what seems typical German to them and what they most like about their new home mentioning peace, freedom, democracy, women’s rights, reliability, willingness to help and much more. The concept and realization of the campaign were made by the creative minds of spring brand ideas lead by Marion Heine and Levent Akinci.

A BIT MORE DETAIL

#FARBENBEKENNEN is a joint project of the Berlin Office of the Senate, the state secretary for civic engagement and international matters, Sawsan Chebli, Berlin Partner and beBerlin and was supported by BILD. The goal is to show the citizens of Berlin that refugees successfully integrated themselves in our society, become part of it and are actively committed to turn this society into a peaceful community. From the 14th November 2017 the campaign themes will be displayed as an „out-of-home“- campaign with classical posters in the urban area of Berlin as well as online on the website www.farbenbekennen.de where also backstories of the protagonists are available. Postcards with the campaign motif are spread citywide to directly reach Berlin citizens. Moreover, an exclusive Christmas event took place on the 2nd December 2017. In 2018, more events about integration will be launched. A big thank you goes out to the team of dan pearlman and the creative minds of spring brand ideas. Designs and texts were made by Dörte Nielsen (Creative Director Design), Imke Jungnitsch (Creative Director Copy), Conrad Menzel (Senior Copywriter), Iken Keune (Senior Art Director) and Sophie Schiewe (Art Director.) Katrin Hermuth (Account Director), Marco Otten (Account Manager) and Sophie Bütow (Account Manager) counseled this project.
