The Globetrotter RE:THINK Store by dan pearlman has been nominated for the prestigious Bundespreis Ecodesign 2024. From a record-breaking number of over 400 submissions, 22 outstanding projects have been selected as finalists, with the opportunity to win the coveted Ecodesign Trophy on December 2, 2024.
Of the 400 entries, approximately 150 were shortlisted after being evaluated by the Advisory Board of the Bundespreis Ecodesign and the German Environment Agency. An interdisciplinary jury then selected 22 innovative and sustainable projects that now await the final award. The awards ceremony will take place on December 2, 2024, with Federal Environment Minister Steffi Lemke personally presenting the awards, underscoring the significance of this recognition in the field of ecological design.
Since 2012, the Bundespreis Ecodesign has been awarded annually by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, the German Environment Agency, and the International Design Center Berlin. It is recognized as the highest national accolade for sustainable design in Germany, honoring projects that combine both ecological and design excellence.
Dr. Bettina Hoffmann, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for the Environment and jury member, emphasizes: “The record number of submissions shows that sustainable design has long become a key component in the creation of products and services. The Bundespreis Ecodesign was a pioneer of this development and has steadily progressed into the mainstream, accompanying the transformation of consumption and production towards a circular economy.”
The Globetrotter RE:THINK Store by dan pearlman is considered a milestone and pioneer in the field of sustainable retail, setting benchmarks for greater sustainability in retail across Germany and Europe.
