On 6 February 2026, Oldenburgische Landesbank AG (OLB), represented by brand and marketing expert Uwe Hellmann and Sandra Büschken, Communications & Investor Relations, accepted the German Design Award in the category “Excellent Architecture” for its branch concept at a festive gala in Frankfurt. The award-winning branch concept is part of OLB’s comprehensive rebranding and was developed by the renowned Berlin-based agency dan pearlman Group under the leadership of Creative Director Volker Katschinski, who also accepted the award.
The jury of the German Design Award was impressed
“The open spatial concept enables a powerful connection between personal consultation, digital integration and a refined atmosphere. Harmoniously coordinated colors, a clear structure and distinctive details create an environment that inspires both customers and employees alike. The implementation sets benchmarks for public interiors and convincingly confirms gold-level quality.”
About the German Design Award
The German Design Award is one of the most prestigious design honors worldwide. This year, the German Design Council recorded around 3,900 submissions from 57 countries. The OLB branch concept is among the selected projects recognized for outstanding design quality, innovative strength and future relevance.
Roll-out of the OLB Branch Concept
The new branch concept can already be experienced at OLB locations in Nordenham, Bremen, Rastede and Vechta, with further roll-outs planned. The design combines contemporary architecture with a welcoming atmosphere: the characteristic OLB green adds fresh accents, while sustainable materials such as wood convey warmth and authenticity. Open spatial structures encourage communication and collaboration, seamlessly integrating personal consultation with digital services. Individually designed, locally inspired motifs incorporated into glass surfaces emphasize OLB’s strong connection to each region.
