Where proximity meets service: ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg opens its new Potsdam location, designed by dan pearlman.

ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg is now at home in the heart of Potsdam, at Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 89, just a short walk from Nauener Tor. Thanks to its prime location, the new office is easily accessible not only for the approximately 111,000 ADAC members in and around Potsdam, but for everyone in the wider catchment area who is seeking advice on mobility, membership, and insurance, or planning their dream trip.
Modern, digital, and personal across 180 square meters
Covering around 180 square meters, visitors are now welcomed by an experienced team of seven staff members. Alongside a modern interior design and digital services, personal consultation remains a top priority. Separate rooms are available for longer advisory sessions, while smaller requests—such as purchasing vignettes—can be handled quickly and conveniently at the large welcome table. If waiting times are slightly longer during peak seasons, guests are invited to enjoy a complimentary coffee.
When the decision to relocate was made exactly one year earlier, ADAC invested considerable effort into designing the new premises and brought the brand architecture team from dan pearlman on board. The shared ambition was to create a service center that combines modern service quality, personal proximity, and a noticeably improved visitor experience. Visibility and privacy, consultation and flexibility, tradition and innovation—these elements were not meant to coexist side by side, but to actively reinforce one another. The new concept delivers on this ambition: open consultation tables for quick matters, retreat spaces for confidential conversations, and an atmosphere that makes people feel welcome. Because anyone coming to ADAC should not only be served, but truly understood.
Four letters, a new address
Since November, the four yellow letters have been shining in the heart of Potsdam’s city center—just a few months after construction began in August. With its new location, the ADAC regional club has moved even closer to its members. For Sascha Leipold, the opening marks a special moment: “The journey to this service center was long and intensive, shaped by teamwork, dedication, and perseverance. Right up to the final minute, people were drilling, planning, wiring, and designing—with impressive passion from everyone involved. The result shows what is possible when sales, marketing, innovation, administration, IT, and architects work hand in hand. This service center is not just a place for consultation; it is an expression of appreciation for our members, our employees, and the Potsdam region.”
Volker Krane, Chairman of the Board of ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg, adds: “We are delighted with our new location in the heart of Potsdam. In an increasingly digital world, there is a growing need for places where consultation, trust, and expertise come together—especially when complex issues require individual solutions. That is exactly why we are here, offering the full spectrum of ADAC services: service-oriented, reliable, and solution-driven.”
An institution in Potsdam for more than 30 years
ADAC shares a long history with the state capital of Brandenburg. As early as 1957, the club opened its first roadside assistance station at the Berlin-Dreilinden border crossing near Potsdam. In 1988, an agreement was concluded with the GDR to provide breakdown assistance for West German vehicles on transit routes. For this purpose, ADAC supplied the Potsdam transport authority with 15 VW Passat vehicles, which formed the foundation of East Germany’s roadside assistance service. Following German reunification, ADAC quickly established its own service center in Heinrich-Mann-Allee—becoming the first ADAC office in the new federal states. Most recently, the club welcomed visitors at Fritz-Zubeil-Straße in the Babelsberg district (from January 2014 to November 2025).
